Ghee-Roasted Masala Makhana
Fox nuts slow-roasted in a teaspoon of ghee until shatteringly crisp, tossed with black salt, chili, and chaat masala plus peanuts for a protein assist — because makhana alone is lighter on protein than the marketing suggests. Airy, high-volume, and 160 calories a bowl, it's a maintenance-friendly crunch fix rather than a real protein feed.
Ingredients
- 2 cups makhana (fox nuts)
- 1 tsp ghee
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts
- 1/4 tsp black salt
- 1/2 tsp chaat masala
- 1/4 tsp red chili powder
Instructions
- Roast the makhana in ghee on low heat, stirring, until crisp — about 10-12 minutes.
- Add the peanuts for the last 2 minutes.
- Toss with black salt, chaat masala, and chili powder off the heat.
- Cool completely for maximum crunch and store airtight.
