Sattu Burfi
The festival-sweet face of the sattu wave: roasted chana flour toasted in ghee, bound with jaggery syrup, and cut into rustic diamonds — no whey needed. At 150 calories a piece with modest plant protein, it's a smarter mithai for maintenance days than a serious protein source.
Ingredients
- 1 cup sattu (roasted chana flour)
- 1/3 cup jaggery
- 2 tbsp ghee
- 1/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 1 tbsp chopped mixed nuts
Instructions
- Roast the sattu in ghee on low heat until nutty and aromatic.
- Melt the jaggery with a splash of water into a thick syrup.
- Combine the sattu, syrup, cardamom, and nuts quickly.
- Press into a greased tray, cool, and cut into diamonds.
