If you're comparing Trainerize against other coaching apps, this guide is for you: not a case for or against Trainerize, but a factual look at six alternatives so you can weigh them against your own roster and workflow. Prices checked on September 27, 2026.

What to weigh before you switch

Before the list, here are the questions worth asking of any platform you're considering, Trainerize included:

With those questions in mind, here are six alternatives worth evaluating (Trainerize itself excluded, since you already know it).

1. Everfit — Best for coaches who want booking and team management in the core plan

Strengths: Everfit's Starter tier covers up to 5 clients at $0/month, with a custom exercise library, workout builder and inbox messaging. Move to Pro and you get booking & scheduling, forms & questionnaires, food journal and macro tracking, and team member management, all inside the core plan rather than bolted on.

Limits: Autoflow automation, on-demand collections, payments & packages and advanced meal plans are separate add-ons on top of the Pro price. Named wearable integrations aren't listed on the pricing page.

Pricing summary: starts at $0/month for up to 5 clients, then the Pro tier scales $16–$255/month billed annually ($19–$290/month monthly) as client count rises from 5 to 300+, with a Studio tier and custom Enterprise pricing above that. Learn more at everfit.io.

On UltraFit360: a coach booking page for intro calls, with configurable call length and timezone-aware scheduling, and team invites with a shared client pool, are part of the coach platform.

2. TrueCoach — Best for coaches who want payments and a branded app together

Strengths: Automated payments via Stripe are included on every plan, not an add-on, and the 3,000+ video exercise library is available from the Starter tier. Standard and Pro add a custom-branded fitness app and wearable integrations (Apple, Garmin, WHOOP, OURA).

Limits: Check-ins and forms aren't named on the pricing page; confirm with TrueCoach how check-ins work. Multi-coach or team support isn't mentioned either.

Pricing summary: the lowest listed plan is $26.34/month for up to 5 active clients, and steps up to $57.99/month (20 clients) and $136.99/month (50 clients). Learn more at truecoach.co.

On UltraFit360: this is a real gap — there's no client payments or billing feature, so you'd still need a separate tool to invoice or charge clients directly, and there's no custom-branded client app; clients use the shared UltraFit360 app instead. If payments and branding are your priority, weigh that against what /coaches does cover.

3. My PT Hub — Best for coaches who want bookings and group classes in one place

Strengths: 1-to-1 bookings are included from the entry Starter plan, and Premium adds group bookings, classes and live streams alongside automated check-ins and scheduled messaging. Payment processing is included from Starter too.

Limits: Prices are shown in EUR on their pricing page, not USD, and prices may vary by region. Named wearable brands aren't listed.

Pricing summary (EUR, as displayed on their site): starts at €25/month (€22.50 billed annually) for 3 clients, scaling to €59/month Premium (unlimited clients) and €215/month Ultimate. Learn more at mypthub.net.

On UltraFit360: UltraFit360's booking page lets prospects book an intro call (configurable call length, notice window and timezone-aware scheduling); it isn't for booking client sessions, and there are no group classes or live streams.

4. Kahunas — Best for coaches who want lead-generation forms included

Strengths: Lead generation forms and automations arrive on the Growth plan, alongside 1.6M-food nutrition tracking and 1,000+ exercise videos on every tier. The site states clearly it does not charge clients directly or take a commission on payments processed through Stripe or PayPal.

Limits: Habit tracking isn't named as a feature on their homepage or pricing help article. The custom-branded app is Ultimate-tier only, and team members are also gated to Ultimate.

Pricing summary: starts at $35/month for up to 25 clients, scaling to $69/month (50 clients) and $99/month (unlimited clients); a 14-day free trial is offered. Learn more at kahunas.io.

On UltraFit360: UltraFit360 has a lead page with a qualifying enquiry form and a New/Contacted/Converted/Archived pipeline that sits alongside the coach booking page, so prospects can enquire and book an intro call without a separate tool.

5. PT Distinction — Best for coaches who want automated workflows and an AI assistant

Strengths: Even the Basic plan includes an AI program builder, AI meal planner, an AI assistant, scheduled email/SMS and automated workflows. Habit tracking and payment processing for packages are included on every plan too.

Limits: The custom-branded app is Pro and Master only. Specific third-party integrations (Zapier, named wearables) aren't listed, and the "unlimited team members" claim appears in page text rather than the plan comparison table itself.

Pricing summary: starts at $19.90/month for 3 clients included ($6.00/month per extra client), scaling to $59.90/month (25 clients, Pro) and $89.90/month (50 clients, Master); a 1-month free trial is offered. Learn more at ptdistinction.com.

On UltraFit360: the closest equivalents are an AI Meal Planner (calories, macros, meal split, diet type, cuisine, allergies) and an AI coach that stays available to clients between check-ins — but there's no AI program-builder or automated-workflow layer comparable to PT Distinction's, and no scheduled email/SMS automation.

6. UltraFit360 — Best for coaches who want leads, booking, check-ins and programming in one platform

Strengths: UltraFit360's coach tools cover leads, intro-call booking, programming, nutrition and check-ins in one place: a lead page with a qualifying enquiry form and a New/Contacted/Converted/Archived pipeline, a coach booking page with configurable call length, notice window and timezone-aware scheduling, a program builder with an exercise library and templates, an AI Meal Planner plus PDF meal-plan import, and a check-in questionnaire builder with a single review inbox for photos, weight and other metrics. Team invites and a shared client pool are part of the coach platform.

Limits, honestly: There's no client payments or billing feature, so you'll need a separate tool if you invoice or charge clients directly. Messaging is one-to-one chat rather than instant back-and-forth, and it doesn't support attachments. There's no custom-branded client app — clients use the shared UltraFit360 app.

Pricing: See the coach platform at /coaches for full details.

Who should switch where

If payments are the priority, TrueCoach bundles them into every plan. If you run group classes or live streams alongside 1-to-1 coaching, My PT Hub's booking and class tools fit well. If lead generation is your bottleneck, Kahunas builds it into the Growth tier. If you want automation and an AI assistant from day one, PT Distinction's Basic plan is dense with tooling. If you want booking and team management without add-on sprawl, Everfit's Pro tier is a tidy package. If your priority is one platform that covers your whole funnel — leads, booking, programming, nutrition and check-ins — without a payments feature or a custom-branded app, UltraFit360 is worth evaluating; it isn't the right fit if payments, group classes or a branded client app are what you actually need.

Where the alternatives are stronger than UltraFit360

Client payments: Trainerize (a $10/month add-on), TrueCoach (included on every plan via Stripe), My PT Hub (included from the Starter plan) and PT Distinction (included on every plan) all handle client payments. UltraFit360 has no client payments or billing feature.

Custom-branded client apps: Trainerize (a $169 one-time add-on), TrueCoach (Standard and Pro tiers), Kahunas (Ultimate tier) and PT Distinction (Pro and Master tiers) all offer a custom-branded app. UltraFit360 has no custom-branded app; clients use the shared UltraFit360 app.

Exercise libraries: TrueCoach includes a 3,000+ video exercise library from its Starter tier, and Kahunas includes 1,000+ exercise videos on every tier.

Group classes and live streams: My PT Hub's Premium tier adds group bookings, classes and live streams, which UltraFit360 doesn't have.

Automation and integrations: PT Distinction includes automated workflows and scheduled email/SMS on every plan, including Basic — a layer UltraFit360 doesn't have.

Frequently asked questions

When does it make sense to switch from Trainerize?

There's no single trigger. It usually comes down to whether Trainerize's packaging still fits your roster: payments ($10/month) and a custom-branded app ($169 one-time) are add-ons on top of the plan price, and Pro pricing rises with client count, so it's worth pricing out your actual roster size on Trainerize and on the alternatives below before deciding.

What should I look for in a Trainerize alternative?

Compare client app quality (what your clients actually open every day), how check-ins and forms work, whether nutrition and meal plans are built in or an add-on, whether lead capture and booking exist without a third-party tool, how team and multi-coach support is priced, and what happens to a client's data and history once coaching ends. Price per client at the roster size you expect to reach matters more than the entry-level price.

Is there a free alternative to Trainerize?

Trainerize itself has a Basic plan at $0/month for a single coaching client, and Everfit has a Starter (Forever Free) plan for up to 5 clients. Of the other platforms here, TrueCoach, My PT Hub, Kahunas and PT Distinction have no free plan; Kahunas offers a 14-day trial, and My PT Hub and PT Distinction offer trials. UltraFit360's current terms are in the early bird offer below.

Can I move my clients' history off Trainerize?

That depends on the export tools each platform offers, which we did not confirm in detail for this comparison. Ask any platform you're evaluating, including Trainerize's own support, exactly what a client keeps access to and what you can export before you commit to switching.
