Polar Flow to Apple Health and Health Connect: What Syncs and How to Connect

Updated October 9, 2026 ยท 7 min read ยท By UltraFit360 Team

๐Ÿ’ก Quick Answer

The Polar Flow app syncs with Apple Health on iPhone and with Health Connect on Android. Polar documents the Apple Health link as one way, from Flow to Health, and the two lists differ.

  • Turn it on: Polar Flow app โ†’ More โ†’ General settings โ†’ Apple Health toggle (iPhone), or Health Connect toggle (Android).
  • Both platforms: steps, workouts, workout heart rate, sleep and weight.
  • Health Connect only: oxygen saturation, resting heart rate, VO2 max, height, speed and exercise routes.
  • Not synced: Polar says continuous heart rate is not synced to Apple Health, and HRV is on neither list.

Polar publishes one help page for Apple Health and one for Health Connect, and the two lists are not identical. This guide follows those pages. For a wider look at the platforms, see the Apple Health vs Health Connect guide.

How to Connect Polar Flow to Apple Health

As of October 2026, Polar documents these steps in the Flow app on iPhone:

  1. Open the Polar Flow app, tap More at the bottom right and go to General settings.
  2. Tap the Apple Health toggle to enable the connection.
  3. Select which categories to sync to the Health app, or tap Turn All Categories On.
  4. Tap Allow at the top right to finish the connection.

After this, Polar says all new data in the Flow app will sync to Apple Health. To disconnect, open Apple Health, tap the profile picture or initials at the top right, go to Apps, select Polar Flow and tap Turn All Categories Off.

How to Connect Polar Flow to Health Connect

Health Connect is built into Android 14 and later and is a Play Store app on Android 13 and earlier. Google documents the way in as follows:

  1. On Android 14 and up, open Settings, then tap Security and privacy โ†’ Privacy Controls โ†’ Health Connect.
  2. On Android 13 and lower, download the Health Connect app from the Play Store, open Settings, tap Apps โ†’ All apps โ†’ Health Connect, then tap Open.

Polar documents these steps in the Flow app on Android:

  1. Open the Flow app and go to General settings.
  2. Turn on Health Connect. Depending on the Android version, Flow redirects to the Google Play Store if Health Connect is not installed, and the app should launch automatically afterwards.
  3. Choose the data to share with Health Connect and tap Allow.
  4. To change the shared data later, tap Manage permissions.

Polar says Health Connect receives new Flow data as long as the connection stays active. To disconnect, turn the toggle off.

Does Polar Flow Read Data From Apple Health or Health Connect?

No, for Apple Health. Polar says that data can only sync from the Polar Flow app to Apple Health, and that syncing data from the Health app to the Flow app is not possible.

For Health Connect, Polar's page describes only data going from Flow to Health Connect and lists no data that Flow reads back.

What Stays Inside the Polar Flow App

Polar's pages list the data above and nothing else. Anything missing is not documented as shared:

Using Polar Flow Data in UltraFit360

UltraFit360 reads from Apple Health and Health Connect, so whatever Polar Flow writes there becomes available to it once you grant permission. Based on Polar's lists, that includes steps, workouts, workout heart rate, sleep and weight, plus SpO2 and resting heart rate on Android. HRV is not on either list.

UltraFit360 does not connect to the device maker directly; the route runs through Apple Health or Health Connect. Open the Polar Flow app after a workout so the watch syncs first. See how the AI fitness tracker uses that data alongside meals and workouts, or browse all UltraFit360 features.
