๐ก Quick Answer
Samsung Health syncs with Health Connect on Android in both directions. Samsung documents no Apple Health sync, and lists Galaxy Watch 4 through 7 and Galaxy Watch Ultra as not compatible with iOS.
- Turn it on: Android: Samsung Health โ Settings โ Health Connect โ Get started โ Allow.
- Syncs: steps, exercise sessions, heart rate, sleep sessions and stages, blood oxygen, weight and body fat, plus blood pressure, blood glucose and nutrition.
- Not listed by Samsung: HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate, temperature and cycle tracking. Samsung says activity tracker data is not synchronized with Health Connect.
- iPhone: Samsung Health runs on iPhone, and Samsung documents no Apple Health connection.
Samsung Health is the app behind the Galaxy Watch and Galaxy Ring. This guide follows Samsung's developer and support pages. For a wider look at the two platforms, see the Apple Health vs Health Connect guide.
What Samsung Health Shares With Apple Health and Health Connect
Samsung's developer documentation, dated February 18, 2025, maps Samsung Health data to Health Connect data types and says the scope can change with the Samsung Health version. Samsung publishes no equivalent list for Apple Health, so those cells read "Not listed by Samsung".

|---|---|---|---|
| Steps | Not listed by Samsung | โ Steps (Samsung lists "All steps") | See the last row for activity tracker data. |

How to Connect Samsung Health to Apple Health
Samsung's support pages describe Samsung Health on iPhone without an Apple Health connection. The iPhone page covers signing in with a Samsung account and the Me, Together and More tabs. Samsung's wearable compatibility page, last updated 2026-09-22, says Galaxy Watch 3, Galaxy Watch Active and Active2 support Bluetooth and the Galaxy Watch iOS app, while Galaxy Watch 4, 4 Classic, 5, 5 Pro, 6, 7 and Ultra are not compatible with iOS. Samsung's Galaxy Ring page describes compatibility with Samsung Galaxy smartphones and does not mention iPhone.
As of October 2026, Samsung documents these steps for the Samsung Health iPhone app:
- Open the App Store, then search for and select Samsung Health.
- Tap Get, then tap Open.
- Tap I agree to allow the permissions, then tap Next.
- Tap Sign in and sign in with a Samsung account.
Samsung documents no Apple Health toggle in these screens.
How to Connect Samsung Health to Health Connect
Health Connect is built into Android 14 and later and is a Play Store app on Android 13 and earlier. Google documents the way in as follows:
- On Android 14 and up, open Settings, then tap Security and privacy โ Privacy Controls โ Health Connect.
- On Android 13 and lower, download the Health Connect app from the Play Store, open Settings, tap Apps โ All apps โ Health Connect, then tap Open.
Samsung documents these steps:
- Update Samsung Health, open it on the Galaxy phone, go to Settings and select Health Connect. If Health Connect is not installed, Samsung Health prompts for the install.
- On first use, tap Get started.
- Select the data to share and tap Allow. Samsung notes that "read" and "write" permissions are granted separately.
- To confirm data arrived, go to Settings โ Health Connect in Samsung Health, then select Data and access and use the Browse data list.
Samsung also lists Sync with Samsung Cloud under Settings switched to On.
Does Samsung Health Read Data From Apple Health or Health Connect?
Yes, on Health Connect. Samsung says Samsung Health synchronizes health data with Health Connect in both directions: when Samsung Health has new or updated data it writes the data to Health Connect, and when Health Connect has updated data, Samsung Health retrieves it.
For Apple Health, Samsung documents neither reading nor writing.
What Stays Inside the Samsung Health App
Anything missing from Samsung's list is not documented as shared:
- HRV, resting heart rate, respiratory rate and temperature are not on the list.
- Cycle tracking is not on the list.
- Samsung's own scores are not on the list.
- Activity tracker data is not synchronized with Health Connect; the distance, power, speed, VO2 max and calorie types come from the exercise tracker.
Why Your Numbers Don't Match
Samsung says the Samsung Health and Health Connect sync happens on the phone side, so timing matters.
- The phone does the syncing. A Galaxy Watch sends its data when it reconnects to the phone, when the Samsung Health home screen is opened, or when that screen is pulled down.
- Continuous heart rate waits. Samsung says it is not sent to the phone immediately, to save battery, while manual watch measurements are.
- Duplicate sources. Health Connect merges data when several apps write the same type, such as steps, and gives priority to the app higher on the list. Change the order under Manage Data โ Data sources and priority.

Using Samsung Health Data in UltraFit360
UltraFit360 reads from Apple Health and Health Connect, so whatever Samsung Health writes there becomes available to it once you grant permission. Based on Samsung's list, that includes steps, exercise sessions, heart rate, sleep and weight on Android. HRV and resting heart rate are not on Samsung's list.
UltraFit360 does not connect to the device maker directly; the route runs through Apple Health or Health Connect. Open Samsung Health after a workout so the watch syncs to the phone first. See how the AI fitness tracker uses that data alongside meals and workouts, or browse all UltraFit360 features.
